Care in practice
Prepare a measurable soft-water system and compare the offered strain with bee husbandry guidance. Ask about temperature, GH, KH, pH, source water and substrate. RO with appropriate minerals may help where tap water does not fit; follow the actual substrate and mineral instructions. TDS or a trade name alone is insufficient.
Background and identification
White coverage and a warm undertone
White coverage ranges from incomplete to strong. Ulli Bauer describes an orange-yellow inner colour and Golden Bee as an international name for Snow White. Sellers may distinguish the names differently. Compare offered animals and their parent group rather than relying on a label.
The same hobby source discusses indications of possible Tiger ancestry, without certainty about every strain. We therefore use Caridina sp. rather than asserting pure C. cantonensis or C. logemanni. White coverage also cannot guarantee the appearance of every offspring.
White Pearl / Snowball is a different trade form, usually identified as Neocaridina palmata. Do not automatically transfer its care to Snow White. Before buying, ask about the actual bee water system and variation among offspring.
